Root Technology provides project management, change management, software implementation management, consultant training, seminars and presentations to North American corporations.

Various projects have included software conversions and implementations, business and technology integration after mergers, development of operating methodologies, design and implementation of accounting solutions, creation of IPO marketing and business valuation documents, staff and team development and project management. Customers include SYSCO-SERCA Food Services, Signs of Change, Barefoot Science, AAA Roofmasters, Shop9000, GET Signage, Ontario Traffic Commission.

SYSCO-SERCA Food Services Inc.
SERCA Foodservices, based in Toronto, is a $2.3 billion wholesale food distributor, providing a full range of food products (meat, dairy, produce, dry goods, prepared) to institutions (schools, hospitals, prisons, government offices) and the private sector (chain restaurants such as Tim Horton’s and Subway, other restaurants, cafeterias, grocery chains). During the project, SYSCO Foodservices, a $28 billion food distributor based in Houston, purchased SERCA.

In my role as National Project Coordinator, I was required to recruit and train conversion team from internal resources, then to convert numerous locations onto AS400 mainframe software solution.

· Project involved hundreds of users in many locations across Canada.
· Recruiting, training, coaching and management of conversion team leads
· Supervise software conversion team through life cycle of implementation
· Negotiate business strategies with each operating company and department
· Negotiation and documentation of project plans

Lawson Software Canada is a subsidiary of Lawson Software, based in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lawson is a Tier One software vendor that develops, sells, and supports high-end accounting software for large corporations, competing with such companies as Oracle, SAP, and JD Edwards. Operating environments included UNIX (IBM RS6000, HP9000) and AS400.

Client Services Manager is considered a senior management position in the services organization, and entailed three unique job requirements, handled concurrently:


Consultant Manager

  • Direct report manager for a team of six consultants, each a specialist in applications or technology. Responsibilities included hiring, training, coaching, salary and performance reviews, and issue resolution.
  • Scheduled consultant’s time, either on my own projects or those of other Lawson branches, ensuring that consultants were consistently billable.
  • Participated in development and fulfillment of revenue/expense budgets.

Key Accounts / Implementation Manager

  • Main client contact for implementation planning and services delivery for key accounts in Canada. Created initial implementation plan, including budgets and resource allocation. Responsible for client satisfaction and issue negotiation.
  • Worked directly with the client’s senior management and project managers to plan and oversee each project. Arranged for and managed external resources required during the implementation. Provided coaching and guidance to on-site project managers throughout the implementation.

Presales Consultant

  • As a member of the sales team, I was responsible for creating and presenting of implementation plans and project strategies to prospective customers.
  • Developed project plans, budgets, time frames, service requirements, project staffing requirements, and resource schedules.
